The present Breguet Aéronavale Type XX Mk I reference 3800, dating to 1996 and offered as a complete full set, is a highly desirable early example of Breguet’s legendary pilot’s chronograph, preserved in outstanding and honest condition. This Mk I configuration is distinguished by its correct early Mk I dial without the bar on the “T”, a key detail sought after by collectors. The dial is preserved in perfect condition and displays a beautiful warm orange patina to the tritium hour markers, adding significant charm and period character. The original hands match the dial perfectly, resulting in a harmonious and fully correct appearance. The stainless-steel case appears to have never been polished and shows only very light wear consistent with careful use, retaining strong edges and original geometry. The correct yellow-gold crown cap is present, an important and characteristic detail of early Type XX models. The watch is fitted with a black crocodile leather strap by Jean-Claude Perrin, in excellent condition, and paired with its correct Mk I deployant clasp, also preserved in excellent condition. While no service history accompanies the watch, it is functioning perfectly at the time of cataloguing. Offered as a full set, this Type XX Mk I represents a rare opportunity to acquire a top-condition, early-production example with outstanding originality, desirable patina, and exceptional completeness. Combining military heritage, correct early features, and remarkable overall preservation, this Breguet Aéronavale Type XX Mk I from 1996 stands as a compelling and highly collectible modern classic.
