The present A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 reference 115.046, executed in 18K white gold and dating to circa 2008, is an exceptionally rare limited edition of only 100 pieces, created exclusively for the Italian market. Distinguished by its elegant and highly unusual dial configuration, it is one of the most collectible variations of the iconic Lange 1. The 40.9 mm white-gold case appears to have been polished in the past and is today preserved in excellent overall condition, showing only light signs of wear. The watch is fitted with a black alligator leather strap (non-A. Lange & Söhne) in excellent condition and retains its original 18K white-gold ardillon buckle. The silver dial is beautifully executed with painted blue Roman numerals and matching heat-blued steel hands, creating a striking contrast against the bright dial while paying tribute to traditional Saxon watchmaking. The iconic off-centre layout, oversized date inspired by the Dresden Semper Opera House clock, power reserve indicator, and subsidiary seconds display combine to create one of the most recognizable dial designs in modern haute horlogerie. Powering the watch is the celebrated manual-winding calibre L901.0, featuring A. Lange & Söhne's signature untreated German silver three-quarter plate, hand-engraved balance cock, screwed gold chatons, blued screws, and a 72-hour power reserve. Visible through the sapphire caseback, it remains one of the finest manually wound movements of the modern era. The watch is offered without its original box or papers, and no service history accompanies the piece. It is, however, in perfect working condition at the time of cataloguing. Produced in only 100 examples worldwide, this Italian-market Lange 1 is among the rarest and most elegant interpretations of A. Lange & Söhne's flagship model, combining exceptional movement finishing with a unique and highly distinctive aesthetic.
