A beautiful example of the Patek Philippe Chronograph reference 1579 in 18k yellow gold, produced in 1947 and sold in 1948, as confirmed by its accompanying Extract from the Archives. The case has been polished in the past and shows light signs of wear consistent with age, with no significant dents or impacts. Importantly, one hallmark remains clearly visible beneath a lug, while some oxidation on the bezel suggests that the watch has not been polished for a considerable period of time. The original unrestored dial is in very good overall condition, showing only a few minor imperfections around its outer edge, particularly between 1 and 3 o’clock and just before 6 o’clock, which are only noticeable from certain angles. The watch is fitted with a brown Patek Philippe alligator strap and its original 18k yellow gold buckle. Inside is the legendary manually wound calibre 13''' CH chronograph movement. There is no known service history; however, the watch is currently running well. A particularly attractive and honest example of the iconic reference 1579, combining an original unrestored dial, well-preserved vintage character and documented production and sale dates from the late 1940s.
