A classic Rolex Day-Date reference 1803/8 in 18k yellow gold, dating to 1971 (serial 2598XXX), presented on a black leather strap. The case is in excellent condition, showing only light wear from use, with strong overall proportions. The fluted bezel remains sharp and well defined, also showing only minimal signs of wear. The champagne dial is in excellent condition, very clean for its age. The tritium lume has aged to a warm creamy tone, giving the watch a pleasing vintage character, and the hands match perfectly. The watch is fitted with a new black leather strap and a gold-tone buckle (non-Rolex). A timeless and elegant example of the iconic Day-Date, combining classic proportions, a clean dial, and the enduring appeal of yellow gold.
