Rolex Daytona reference 6263 from 1986 (serial 9.46XXXX), an exceptionally well-preserved and fully original example of one of the most iconic vintage chronographs. The watch is fitted with its striking black “Big Red” dial, with all luminous plots intact and beautifully aged. The contrasting white subdials remain remarkably clean and fresh, showing only the lightest of marks, further evidence of how sparingly this piece has ever been opened or tampered with. The hands are perfectly matching and react in harmony with the dial under UV light, fading simultaneously as expected for untouched tritium. The original black bakelite bezel is preserved in excellent condition, with only a few minor marks consistent with gentle wear over nearly four decades. The stainless steel case is exceptionally sharp, with full proportions and crisp factory lines, appearing to have never been polished—an increasingly elusive quality among surviving examples of the 6263. The watch is accompanied by its original Rolex Oyster bracelet, reference 78350 with 571 endlinks, showing only light stretch, claspcode K4. The serial and reference numbers between the lugs are deep and perfectly legible, a further testament to its untouched state. The caseback is stamped 6263 and carries a discreet service engraving from Bucherer Geneva, underlining its Swiss provenance. Inside, the celebrated caliber 727 presents in excellent condition, running flawlessly. Offered from the collection of a Swiss gentleman who had cherished the watch since 2002, this Daytona 6263 stands out as a particularly honest, untouched, and highly desirable example—combining originality, condition, and provenance in a way rarely encountered on the market today.
