A rare and highly attractive Breguet Classic Perpetual Calendar reference 3310, crafted in 18k yellow gold, dating to 1989 and measuring approximately 36 mm in diameter with an elegant 8 mm thickness. The reference 3310 belongs to an important transitional period in Breguet's modern history, having been developed during the era when Daniel Roth was working at Breguet and contributing to the revival of the manufacture's traditional watchmaking identity. This example is particularly interesting as it comes before the period before Breguet introduced letter-based serial numbers, making it an early and comparatively rare example of the reference. The yellow gold case appears to have been never polished and retains a beautiful, even layer of natural oxidation, giving the watch considerable character and authenticity. The case remains in very good overall condition with attractive original proportions. The dial is also very well preserved overall, showing only a few small areas of natural oxidation consistent with its age. The classic Breguet layout of the perpetual calendar gives the watch a particularly elegant and balanced appearance. The watch is fitted with an original brown Breguet alligator strap, currently showing approximately 70% condition, and an original Breguet yellow gold ardillon buckle. There is no known service history; however, the movement is running very well. An especially charming detail is the personal engraving on the caseback reading “deine Frix 28 Juni 89”, suggesting that the watch was presented as a personal gift in June 1989. Rare, historically significant, and beautifully preserved with its original character, this Breguet 3310 offers a fascinating glimpse into the early years of the modern Breguet revival and the period associated with Daniel Roth's influential work at the manufacture.
